 | The Train ProjectWe have decided to build a train which travels the highways of Baldwin County. It will be a traveling museum that carries with it cars from every area of the county. Our organization is building the lead unit which will be a simulation of the "Pine Knot Special" which operated during the early 1900's in Baldwin County. These trains consisted of 3 steam locomotives which were numbered 123, 9 and 2105. You may see photo's of them here in the archive. This album is an attempt to keep a photo history of our progress in actualy building it. As cities, towns, business, and organizations join our effort and build their own cars, we will place their albums in this section. Each car will be assigned a unit number . All pictures and history about that unit will be in the corresponding unit number album. The lead Locomotive has been issued Unit # 1 . It will pull Unit # 2 which will be the Tender car that carried water and wood that the locomotive used as fuel. If you desire to build a car, you must first join our organization at the Engineer Class. All non-profits may join free. Other organizations and individuals must ether pay $500 or earn 500 Tracks (T's) to build a car.
A * denotes that this unit must be pulled by another unit. |
